I spent last night cleaning out the dust from my laptop and applying a fresh coat of Antec Formula 7 thermal compound to the CPU and GPU.
This ‘before’ photo with the fan and heat sink removed shows how dried up and crusty the thermal compound had gotten. The fan was screaming like a banshee non-stop, and my laptop would occasionally shut down from overheating. A couple of hours of TLC, and she’s purring like a kitten! Be good to your hardware, people!
