On the opening night of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a seven-year-old girl's Star Wars toys come to life. They learn who they are and set off on an adventure to help their young companion as she heads out to watch The Force Awakens.
STAR WARS FAN AWARDS 2018: We produced this short film for Lucasfilm's 2018 Star Wars Fan Awards, where it won the awards for BEST STOP MOTION and SPIRIT OF FANDOM.
DIRECTOR'S CUT 2019: After screening at numerous film festivals across the U.S. throughout 2019, we published this 7-minute Director's Cut of the film on December 27th, 2019.

STAR WARS FAN FILM AWARDS 2015: We produced this short film for Lucasfilm's 2015 Star Wars Fan Film Awards, where it was selected as one of 25 finalists and nominated for BEST VISUAL EFFECTS.
SPECIAL EDITION 2020: Five years after the original release, we published this Special Edition edit of the film with improved visual effects, editing, color grading, and sound design.

Meet Patrick Conrad, former owner of the Fast Frame in Solana Beach, CA. I met Patrick because I needed a professional to frame some beautiful Drew Struzan posters, which I wanted to use in our fan film, Star Wars: Episode IV – A Toy Story. Patrick was nice enough to let me film the entire framing process for my own edification. I learned a lot of wonderful technical details about framing, but the best parts of our discussion weren't technical at all and are captured in this video.

LUMPIA WITH A VENGEANCE (2020) | VISUAL EFFECTS

The LUMPIA-armed hero reappears in Fogtown and teams up with high school student Rachel to prevent a mysterious crime syndicate from destroying their town, and her parents' dream wedding.

PixelPlex produced the visual effects for numerous shots in the comedic feature film Lumpia with a Vengeance from writer / director / producer Patricio Ginelsa.

DEMON PROTOCOL (2018) | VISUAL EFFECTS

After an exorcism goes horribly wrong a team from a shadowy religious order must determine who among them the demon has possessed, or all their lives are forfeit.

THE GIVING TREE | MOTION

SAN DIEGO PUBLIC LIBRARY FUNDRAISING EVENT

PROJECT: The San Diego Public Library Foundation held the "Celebration Under the Dome" fundraising event on October 10, 2014 to benefit the entire San Diego public library system. We created motion graphics for the event, which were displayed on HDTV's throughout the Central Library. We created this 3D tree animation to support the evening's theme based on the children's book The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. Each light floating around the tree, the number of which steadily increased throughout the evening, represents a donation. We also created motion graphics for the donor names and donations, which were updated throughout the evening. Thanks to the awesome folks at American Dream Cinema for facilitating this work.

The titles have been updated as the Amalgamated Grommets team has re-edited the film, but these are the original titles as shown at the 48 Hour Film Festival.
